6-17-07 post

The other day (for the 10,000th time), I said that RGP Typing was a toilet bowlSome emailed me asking how I could say itI don't know how I couldn't say it. RGP used to be something fairly interesting with a lot of neat characters and tech tips and varying opinions. Now it is the home of Cargpb and Load. What more needs to be said? If you want to kiss a-- and make believe that people 3000 miles away from you are really your friends, then yes maybe you could say that RGP has a purpose, but to me it is just a place that Chris Hansen should spend more time looking for "stars" for one of his future shows. Without me and the Bull and the CH controversy and some of the old timers, the thing just sucks.********************************I also made a comment that RGP typing has a bunch of people on it who flip burgers during the day and come home at night to be keyboard commandos. I got a few emails on that and kind of felt bad about it, but you know what ... I don't want some guy who is paid minimum wage at Burger King making rules as to what is right and wrong on a newsgroup. When I was young, I flipped burgers just like everyone else, but I knew that I needed to work hard to get ahead, so I had two or three jobs and was too busy working myself to the bone to be spending any time being the ruler of any dopey newsgroup.Newsgroups are DUMB unless they have interesting people on them, which RGP typing no longer has thanks to Cargpb and Load and the rest of the gang.************************************Some have said I have been too tough on Cliffy of Protector fame. While I agree that Cliffy makes a valuable product, I think he oversteps his bounds by acting as if he is the King of RGP. Make a comment that Lord Clifton doesn't like, and his minions will quickly attack. Cliffy sells a product that is probably marked up between 1200-1500%. If he had half a brain, he'd shut his mouth and laugh all the way to the bank. But that's not enough ... he wants to control the speech of others as well. What more can I say aside from the fact that I don't like, don't want to like and would never like him. The one time I spoke with him on the phone, it was just a race to see how quickly I could get him and his dead personality off the phone. In short, he sucks, but in a way he's smart because he's working at a much bigger mark-up percentage than I ever have been able to manage***********************************OK next ... The Emperor ... I really don't have much to say about the Emperor aside from the fact that he puts out a great product and in my opinion he too tries to manipulate the "press". When we started RGP radio he would email me behind the scenes and tell me who he thought I should be good to (Cliffy of course). Well, I don't like Cliffy and it's really not important to me to have Cargpb approval to run a hobby radio network, so I wouldn't listen to him. And if I had to it again I would be even rougher on Cliffy and I wouldn't listen to the Emperor ... Just build your products and let us buy them and stop with the manipulation ... I think they hated the radio, because it was manipulation free and we could say whatever we wanted to and they couldn't stop it (kind of funny if you think about it).********************************************Who do I like in the hobby???????? ... hmmm ... Chris Hutchins is number one, Yetti, GM, The Bull is awesome, Cliff Piel, Buddy Robinson, Marc Bergan, TH, Rome, Rick at Bay Area, Steve Ritchie, Mike Pacak, Wayne Gilliard, Gene Cunningham has my respect for BBB, Jack at Pinball sales, and a lot of other fine collectors, listeners and readers. The people behind the scenes in this hobby tend to be really great, but the big names, the ones who post and act as if they are word Gods, they tend to really suck. It's the "Inside Boys" that I cannot standThe Grovers, the Cliffy's, the Cargpb losers, the BK's, Gary Stern is not on my top 10 list, Pat Lawlor is on my forever sh-- list because I bought more of his games than anyone and he stabbed our listeners in the back (IMHO), and some others who I have named and will name.***********************************The bottom line is that I just say what the normal people in the hobby are thinking. It comes as a shock to many, because in this PC world, you are supposed to spend your time saying things you don't really believe. The popularity of our radio show and now this site and soon to be a venture that will rival what the great Mark Cuban created in 1995, is proof that people are still interested in hearing the truth. **************************Some have said that I think I am better than others because our company sells Gold. That's another piece of rubbish, put out there by the freak crowd. We have a nice little business, but of everything I've ever been involved in, this is by far the LEAST profitable thing I have done to date. I'm a lifetime coin collector, so this is a fun way for me to pass time and build up an interesting business. I don't look at myself at being better than anyone ... aside from maybe one person and I will talk about him next ....*****************************************Some people have been asking me why I came down so hard on ClaySimple ... when we were broadcasting RGP radio, every time we would announce a guest, good old Uncle Clay would contact the guest and work his little "magic". Trying to run a business and a family and then have to deal with that horse sh--, was more than I could handle. One specific incident between myself, MP and Clay won't be mentioned now, but it will eventually come to light and it is a great illustration of what kind of guy Wigs really is.Meanwhile, we never messed with any of his guests because we didn't want to ruin his showIf this was a big money venture like the Leno vs. Letterman, I could understand it, but this was just something funBut Clay couldn't leave it at thatBefore we started RGP Radio I didn't even know who Clay was. Now that I have had the opportunity to see him in action, I can say that in my opinion he is a first class a--and finally the reviews are in and it seems that good old Clay deserves an F for his interview skillsF meaning FailureWho else could make George Gomez sound so bad?but your opinion may vary ...Gary/Arizona
